If you're looking for me, I'm on livejournal.
I used to comment on a number of blogs. I no longer will, though I will continue to read the feeds on my livejournal.
Blogger, in its indefinite wisdom (which used to include blocking posting from my Mac, and using a design that makes it impossible to use in-post comment forms from any browser on my Mac and signing me out *every bloody time despite using the 'stay signed in' feature, so that when I click on 'sign in' I find I am miraculously signed in after all) has changed _something_ about the platform.
That something means that Safari crashes. Every single fucking time. And I mean, every time I forget myself and open a post on blogger, I lose the whole of my application. This does not happen with many websites, but it happens with almost every blogger site, and started somewhere in the last couple of weeks. The rest of the world is stable, my application has not changed... and if the same thing happens fifty times in a row, I won't expect the fifty-first time to be different.
I am jumping through an inordinate number of hoops in order to post a last round of comments on the blogs I used to frequent - it's not the fault of the bloggers themselves that they are being served so badly by a company that you cannot even contact to say 'this is really fucked up, please fix' (yes, I have jumped thorugh the fifty hoops necessary to drop a post into the dark hole that is google groups. I have never even had an acknowledgement that someone has read my complaints, much less that anyone cares they're causing problems.)
So the only course of action I can see is to say 'I hope I'll see you elsewhere on the net' because I really cannot cope with the demands blogger puts on me. I am not going to switch my system to a browser that still only works about halfway. I am not going to switch operating systems. Much as I like talking to people, well,
you can find me on livejournal. You can talk to me by e-mail, and I would love to hear from you. I am on twitter, I'm even on facebook. But what you will no longer get unless under exceptional circumstances, are comments on your blog. It's not your fault, but I simply cannot deal with Blogger anymore.
